Progress on 'Falling In Slow Motion'. I began this painting on a whim last night but it has changed a great deal since then - touching more on it this afternoon, working with shadow and playing with light. Like all of my paintings, there are several inspirations behind it. For instance, I have a vase here that I have a fear of breaking - beacuase it means so much to me. I began thinking about it last night while looking at shadows created by the lamp and considered how I could interpret some of that within this painting as a whole. Gradually I'm progressing towards what I want to capture. This is an emotional piece, centered on fragility, beauty and my continued intrigue of flowers.
