The Holy Art Gallery

I was informed earlier this month by The Holy Art Gallery that six of my paintings have been chosen to be virtually exhibited in London for their 'Monorama' exhibition. I am so grateful for this. I've always put heart into what I do, even when few understood how important it was to me and never expected anything in return for that or to be rewarded for what I do in any capacity. I'm a country girl from a very small southern town and to know that my paintings will be seen in London means a great deal to me. EXHIBITION DATES: 28 September - 28 October 2023.

Address: The Holy Art London: The Factory, 21-31 Shacklewell Ln, London, E8 2DA

Reference

Growing up, I had an infatuation with photography. It's an incredible medium. Imagine a world without photographs. They enable you to see the past, capture the present and look back on things and consider how far you or someone else have come or how much something has changed. It's sobering but also it can help you. As an artist, that infatuation evolved into a useful tool for my paintings. Reference photos are photos used in a work of art in whichever way an artist prefers to use them. As a painter, I am compelled by their realness and by their rigid simplicity. Before publishing these books, I had often used electronics to view my photos but I had always chose real books over reading from a screen, so why should that be any different with images? The idea of printing all of my photography in multiple volumes seemed like the only sensible thing to do. These are memories narrated by surroundings. Each volume is around 480 pages and contain around 475 photos taken by me and often used as references for my paintings. These are private, meaning that I am not comfortable with selling them so they will not be sold. but I'm really pleased that they arrived. Huge heartfelt thank you to my husband for continuing to be supportive (as he always has been) and who, even when I feel like utter sh*te, lets me know that I matter and that he sees something special within my art, writing and photography.

Blog Welcome

Art of Cierra blog is my official blog and an extension of www.artofcierra.com, where I list my original framed paintings for purchase. This blog is a quieter alternative to legacy (and more modern) social sites, where algorithms, hashtags and general noise rule with an iron fist. I enjoy sharing things about my paintings but often find those sites to be stifling. Art of Cierra blog is truly a purist artistic blog about my art and passion for painting. Rarely do I stray from topics wholly associated with my art. My modern expressionist framed acrylic paintings may be purchased at www.artofcierra.com.
